Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and meet your safari representative. Transfer privately to your selected hotel in Entebbe. This first day is deliberately relaxed to allow you to recover after your international journey. If you arrive early, an optional Entebbe activity can be arranged.
Your driver-guide will brief you about the safari route, major activities and preparations for gorilla trekking.
Main Destination: Entebbe

Day 02
Entebbe to Murchison Falls Region
After breakfast, depart Entebbe and begin traveling north toward the Murchison Falls conservation area. The drive passes through changing rural landscapes and towns. Depending on the confirmed program, conservation experiences can be incorporated along the route.
Continue to your lodge near Murchison Falls National Park. Enjoy dinner and prepare for your first major wildlife day.

Day 03
Murchison Falls Game Drive and Nile Boat Safari
Wake early for a game drive across the park’s savannah. Search for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hartebeests, warthogs and other animals. Lions occur in the park and may sometimes be encountered around areas with abundant prey.
After lunch, take a boat safari along the Nile. Look for hippos, Nile crocodiles and wildlife visiting the riverbanks. The journey toward Murchison Falls provides dramatic views as the Nile becomes increasingly turbulent.
Return to your lodge in the evening.

Day 10
Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Today is the defining experience of your 14 Day Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife Safari. After an early breakfast, transfer to the appropriate Uganda Wildlife Authority briefing point. Rangers explain trekking procedures and assign visitors to habituated gorilla families.
Enter the rainforest with trackers and guides. Bwindi can be steep and muddy, and the gorillas move naturally through their territory. Trekking duration therefore varies. Hiring a porter is highly recommended.
Once the gorillas are located, follow your ranger quietly toward the family. Under standard trekking arrangements, visitors normally spend up to one hour observing the habituated group. Watch a silverback resting near his family, females feeding and juveniles climbing or playing around the vegetation.
After the encounter, trek back to the starting point and return to your lodge.

Enjoy a slower day after gorilla trekking. Depending on your interests, take a community visit, birding excursion or guided nature walk. Community experiences can provide insight into farming, craft production and tourism-linked livelihoods around Bwindi.
Alternatively, relax at your lodge and enjoy the highland scenery.

Gorilla Trekking Permit
Every gorilla trekker requires a valid permit. Permits are issued for specific dates and trekking sectors. Because the permit determines where you trek in Bwindi, it should be confirmed before accommodation is finalized.
Booking well ahead provides greater flexibility.
Wildlife You May Encounter
Depending on the final route, possible sightings include elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, zebras, impalas, hippos, Nile crocodiles, lions, leopards, warthogs, topis, baboons and monkeys. All wildlife is free-ranging, so specific sightings cannot be guaranteed.
What to Pack
For wildlife drives, bring lightweight safari clothing, binoculars, sunscreen, a hat and camera equipment. For gorilla trekking, add strong hiking boots, long trousers, a long-sleeved shirt, gardening gloves, rain protection and insect repellent. A light fleece is useful in the cooler highlands.
Best Time to Travel
The safari can be undertaken throughout the year. June through September and December through February are popular because conditions are generally comparatively dry. The wetter periods produce lush landscapes and can still offer excellent wildlife and gorilla experiences.
