Day 01
Arrival in Entebbe
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where your representative will meet you after arrival formalities. Transfer privately to your selected luxury hotel. Your first day is deliberately relaxed, allowing you to recover from your international journey.
Depending on arrival time, enjoy the hotel facilities, arrange a private meal or participate in an optional excursion around Entebbe. Your representative will review the itinerary and answer questions about the safari.

Day 02
Entebbe to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, meet your private driver-guide and begin your journey toward western Uganda. Travel through the countryside in a comfortable safari vehicle with stops arranged according to your preferences and the day’s schedule.
The journey itself provides an opportunity to observe rural Uganda, agricultural landscapes and changing terrain. Lunch is arranged at a suitable quality restaurant or lodge. Continue toward Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The park occupies an impressive position within the Albertine Rift and protects savannah, wetlands, crater landscapes, lakes and woodland. Depending on arrival time, enjoy an introductory game drive before reaching your lodge. Check into your luxury accommodation and relax with views over the surrounding wilderness.

Day 03
Private Wildlife Viewing and Kazinga Channel Safari
Begin the day early with a private game drive. Having a private safari vehicle allows greater flexibility than traveling with an unrelated group. Your guide can concentrate on your interests, whether those are predators, elephants, photography or birdlife.
Explore suitable game-viewing tracks while searching for African elephants, Cape buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks and warthogs. Lions may be encountered in suitable areas, while leopards are present but considerably more elusive.
Your guide will interpret animal behavior and explain the park’s ecosystem rather than simply moving from one sighting to another. Return to the lodge for breakfast or lunch depending on your chosen schedule. Later, proceed to the Kazinga Channel.
A boat safari provides close views of the aquatic ecosystem. Large groups of hippos are a characteristic feature, while crocodiles and numerous waterbirds can also be observed. Elephants and buffaloes sometimes approach the banks, producing excellent photographic opportunities.
Where available and requested, private boating arrangements may be considered for travelers wanting a more exclusive experience. Return to your lodge for dinner.

Day 04
Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi – Ishasha Region
After breakfast, depart toward Bwindi. Depending on your confirmed gorilla sector and lodge location, travel through the Ishasha region of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Ishasha is renowned for its unusual tree-climbing lions.
Your private guide can spend time searching appropriate areas where lions are known to rest in large fig trees. Sightings are never guaranteed, but the region is also rewarding for elephants, buffaloes, topis and Uganda kobs. Continue toward the highlands.
The transition from savannah to rainforest is one of the most beautiful parts of the journey. Arrive at your luxury lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After check-in, enjoy the lodge facilities and views of the forest.
Your guide will brief you about the following morning’s gorilla trek.

Day 05
Luxury Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi
Wake early and enjoy breakfast before transferring to the appropriate gorilla trekking headquarters. All standard gorilla treks are regulated by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, regardless of accommodation category, ensuring that conservation remains central to the experience.
After registration and briefing, join your assigned group and enter the rainforest with professional ranger guides and trackers. Bwindi’s terrain can be challenging.
The trek may involve steep slopes, thick vegetation and muddy trails. Porters are highly recommended and can carry your daypack while providing assistance on difficult sections. The time required to locate the gorillas varies. When trackers eventually find your assigned family, your ranger will guide you into position.
Standard gorilla trekking normally provides up to one hour with the habituated family. Watch quietly as the gorillas feed, rest, groom and interact.
A massive silverback can be remarkably calm despite his imposing size. Females may remain close to their young, while juveniles often climb vegetation and play around the family. These natural interactions create exceptional opportunities for photography and observation.
After your viewing time, trek back to the starting point. Your private driver will be waiting to return you to the lodge. Enjoy a comfortable afternoon of relaxation. Depending on your selected property, spa treatments or other lodge services may be available.

Day 06
Relaxed Bwindi Experience
After the previous day’s trek, enjoy a leisurely morning. A major advantage of a seven-day luxury itinerary is the opportunity to appreciate Bwindi without immediately beginning a long transfer.
Choose an optional community experience, guided nature walk or birding excursion, or simply spend the day enjoying your lodge. A community visit can introduce you to conservation-linked livelihoods and local traditions. Nature enthusiasts may prefer a guided forest-edge experience.
Bwindi is exceptionally rich in birdlife, butterflies and plant species. Return to your lodge for a relaxed lunch and afternoon. Enjoy your final evening in southwestern Uganda surrounded by the rainforest.

Day 07
Bwindi to Entebbe – Departure
After breakfast, check out and begin your return journey. Depending on the customized safari arrangements, return to Entebbe by road or use an available domestic flight from an appropriate airstrip. Travelers choosing the road option can enjoy scenic views and suitable stops along the route.
If timing permits, visit the Equator before continuing to Entebbe. Upon arrival, transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your international departure. Your 7 Day Luxury Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife Safari concludes after combining premium safari hospitality with two dramatically different wildlife environments.
What Defines a Luxury Uganda Safari?
Luxury safari travel is primarily about the quality and personalization of the entire experience. A private vehicle gives you greater control over wildlife-viewing time and stops. High-end lodges typically offer more spacious accommodation, carefully prepared meals, attractive locations and attentive service.
Efficient transfers and thoughtful itinerary pacing also reduce unnecessary fatigue. For some travelers, domestic flights can further enhance comfort by replacing particularly long road journeys.
Luxury Gorilla Lodges in Bwindi
Bwindi contains several trekking sectors, and luxury accommodation should be selected according to the location specified by your gorilla permit. Staying in the correct sector minimizes early-morning travel and avoids unnecessary transfers before the trek.
Depending on the property, luxury lodges may offer forest-facing cottages, private verandas, fireplaces, premium dining, personalized service and spa facilities. Specific lodge selection depends on availability, budget and trekking location.
Wildlife Viewing in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Possible sightings include elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, hippos, warthogs, waterbucks, baboons and monkeys. Predators include lions, leopards and spotted hyenas. The Kazinga Channel adds crocodiles, large numbers of hippos and extensive birdlife.
All wildlife remains wild, so no particular sighting can be guaranteed.

Gorilla Trekking Permit
A valid gorilla trekking permit is essential. Permits are issued for particular dates and trekking sectors and can become limited during popular periods. We recommend confirming permits before finalizing accommodation.
Our safari planners can coordinate the permit with the most suitable luxury lodge and transfer arrangements.
What to Pack for Luxury Gorilla Trekking
Luxury accommodation does not remove the need for practical trekking equipment. Bring waterproof hiking boots, long trousers, long sleeves, a rain jacket and gardening gloves. Carry insect repellent, sunscreen, drinking water and camera equipment in a comfortable daypack.
A light fleece is useful in the cool Bwindi mornings. For the wildlife portion, pack binoculars, a hat and lightweight neutral-colored safari clothing.
Best Time for a Luxury Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife Safari
The journey is possible throughout the year. June through September and December through February are popular because conditions tend to be comparatively dry. The wetter seasons can produce exceptionally green scenery and atmospheric forest photography.
Because Bwindi is tropical rainforest, rain remains possible in every month.
