Day 01
Kigali to Volcanoes National Park
Meet your private guide in Kigali and begin your Rwanda safari. Depending on your arrival time, an optional Kigali city tour can be incorporated before traveling north.
The journey from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park takes you through Rwanda's famous hilly countryside. Small towns, farms and mountain landscapes characterize the route. As you approach Musanze, the Virunga Mountains become increasingly prominent.

Day 02
Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Wake early, have breakfast and transfer to the gorilla trekking briefing point. After registration, park personnel explain the rules governing encounters with mountain gorillas. Visitors are divided into trekking groups and assigned habituated gorilla families.
You then enter the forest accompanied by professional trackers and guides.
Encountering Rwanda's Mountain Gorillas
The duration of the trek varies because gorillas move freely through the forest. Day 03
Golden Monkey Tracking
After breakfast, return to Volcanoes National Park for a completely different primate adventure. Golden monkeys inhabit the bamboo forests of the Virunga Mountains and are recognizable by their striking golden-orange coloring.
Unlike gorillas, which may spend long periods resting or feeding in one location, golden monkeys are frequently active. They leap between bamboo stems, forage through vegetation and move rapidly through the forest.
