Safari Overview
A 14 Day Ultimate Uganda Safari is designed for travelers who want to experience a broad cross-section of Uganda within two memorable weeks. Rather than focusing on a single national park or one wildlife species, this itinerary can combine game drives, tropical forests, primates, boat safaris, mountain landscapes and cultural experiences into one comprehensive journey.
Uganda’s diversity makes it ideal for an extended safari. The country contains the River Nile, open savannah, wetlands, crater landscapes, tropical forests and mountainous gorilla habitat. Wildlife ranges from elephants, giraffes and buffaloes to chimpanzees and endangered mountain gorillas.
The exact fourteen-day route can be customized, but a typical journey explores several of western Uganda’s leading destinations before continuing into the southwestern highlands.

Day 10
Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Where gorilla trekking is included, today provides the safari’s most distinctive experience. Wake early and transfer to the relevant park briefing center. Rangers explain trekking rules before leading participants into the rainforest.
Mountain gorillas move freely, so locating a family can require anything from a shorter walk to several hours of hiking. Once found, standard trekking normally allows up to one hour with the habituated gorillas. Observe silverbacks, females and younger gorillas feeding, resting and interacting.
Afterward, return to the lodge.

Day 13
Final Safari Experience
Take one final wildlife drive, guided walk or scenic activity. If visiting Lake Mburo, possible wildlife includes zebras, impalas, buffaloes, elands and warthogs. The smaller park environment creates a relaxed conclusion to a longer safari.

Good to Know
Practical notes on timing, permits, routes and extensions for this safari.
Why Choose an Ultimate Uganda Safari?
The advantage of fourteen days is variety without excessive speed. Shorter safaris often require travelers to choose between wildlife and primates. Two weeks allows both to be incorporated while still leaving time for scenic transfers and relaxation.
The itinerary is especially suitable for first-time visitors who want to experience more than one side of Uganda.
Private Safari Transportation
Travel is normally arranged in a private safari vehicle. Private transportation allows the guide to adjust reasonable stops according to your interests and gives you greater flexibility during game drives. It also means you are not required to follow the schedule of unrelated travelers.
Accommodation Options
The safari can be created using budget, mid-range, luxury or mixed accommodation. Your lodge selection can be tailored according to location, comfort expectations and budget. In gorilla destinations, accommodation must also be coordinated with the trekking sector shown on your permit.
What to Pack
Bring lightweight neutral-colored safari clothing, comfortable shoes, binoculars, sunscreen, insect repellent and camera equipment. If primate trekking is included, pack hiking boots, long trousers, long sleeves, gloves and a lightweight rain jacket. A fleece is useful in highland destinations.
Best Time for the Safari
Uganda can be visited throughout the year. June through September and December through February are commonly popular because conditions tend to be comparatively dry. Green-season travel can provide lush landscapes, atmospheric photography and potentially fewer visitors.
